RZA will join David Duchovny as the cast of "Californication". The Wu-Tang Clan leader has been tapped to take a major recurring role when the show returns for its fifth season. According to TVLine, his character is tentatively called Apocalypse and is described as a slightly dangerous hip-hop mogul whom Duchovny's Hank considers writing a movie for.

RZA, whose real name is Robert Fitzgerald Diggs, has previously appeared in some films such "Due Date" and "The Next Three Days". The Grammy winning hip hop pioneer also played a wrongly convicted felon in the pilot episode of NBC's short-lived series "Outlaw". He is additionally on board to serve as a director for "The Man With an Iron Fist" which stars Russell Crowe and himself among others.

Creator Tom Kapinos has said he will take the story of "Californication" season five to a new direction. Madeleine Martin and Natascha McElhone will reprise their roles as Hank's daughter Becca and anchor-ex-fiancee Karen respectively although they won't be regulars.
