Kelis has just debuted a Rankin-directed music video for her latest single "Brave". The "Milkshake" hitmaker wearing a white outfit keeps it simple in this clip, singing the whole song in front of a white backdrop without bothering to give a specific storyline.
Co-produced by will.i.am and Benny Benassi, "Brave" is taken from Kelis' fifth studio album "Flesh Tone" which has been in stores since July this year. The song was co-written by her based on her failed marriage with Nas.
She told Us Magazine, "After (the split), everyone was like, 'You are going through a rough time, you should write something personal.' I wear my feelings on my sleeve. The hardest decisions are the best ones and for me that was really the case. I am definitely better today than I was a year ago. And I'll be better next year."
