Once she completed her rehab stint, Lindsay Lohan will quit Hollywood and move back to New York, her mother Dina Lohan revealed on NBC's "TODAY" show on Friday, August 13. The 47-year-old mom said, "California is a wonderful state... [but] the court system is different there."

During the interview, Dina also shared that Lindsay has made friends with a few scary new pals during her jail stint. Dina revealed, "She's great, she's been through a lot... Lindsay was in with alleged murderers and she's become friends with some of them. She's rolling with the punches."

As for the jail sentence itself, Dina believed that Judge Marsha Revel was too harsh on her daughter. "I think she went overboard and played serious hardball with Lindsay... [She didn't deserve jail] for this particular offense," Dina said.

"She violated... actually, didn't violate... she was in for missing a couple of classes that she made up, and she was working at the time," Lindsay's mother continued. "The judge went overboard and put her in serious lockdown for two weeks."

Lindsay is currently undergoing court-ordered treatment in a California rehabilitation center. Dina shared that Lindsay might be released sooner than the court has ordered her, saying "Because the judge recused herself. She went against the district attorney's advice. It will be... soon."

Dina, however, believes that Lindsay was only a victim, blaming "tabloids" multiples times for making her daughter's life "magnified." She stated, "In the old days, Julia Roberts didn't have somebody following them in their relationships."
