Aventura scooped the most nods, collecting nine prizes at this year's Billboard Latin Awards which was held at Coliseo de Puerto Rico Jose Miguel Agrelot in San Juan on April 29. Their awards included Latin Album and Digital Album of the Year for 2009 "The Last".
Following their domination was Puerto Rican reggaeton artist Tito El Bambino who walked home from the Thursday night's ceremony with seven trophies. One of the honors he got was Hot Latin Song Male Artist of the Year.
Other musicians who were handed multiple awards included Luis Fonsi who bagged four awards and reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel who managed to snatch three kudos. Special honoree of the awards show, meanwhile, was Marc Anthony who received Billboard Spirit of Hope Award. The husband of singer Jennifer Lopez was honored for his philanthropic efforts.
