Hours after the release of the first clip from "Up in the Air", Paramount Pictures premiered the teaser trailer to the loose adaptation of Walter Kirn's novel. Debuted at Slash Film, the teaser takes the focus on George Clooney's Ryan Bingham and the speech he delivers at motivational speaking gigs.

Although the two minutes sneak peek doesn't help much in revealing the plot, it does unravel what kind of person Bingham is as his key philosophy in life is laid bare in the speech. Living his life free of any relationships, his idea is that the things people own and the relationships people carry will end up owning them and weighing them down.

Ryan Bingham is a corporate downsizing expert whose job is to travel around to different companies and determine who needs to be terminated. His only joy in life comes from the prospect of scoring his 10 million frequent flier miles. But, as he closes in on his goal and just after he's met the frequent-traveler woman of his dreams, his cherished life on the road becomes threatened to fall apart.

"Up in the Air" is directed by "Thank You for Smoking" and "Juno" helmer Jason Reitman, who also co-wrote the script with Sheldon Turner. Vera Farmiga, Anna Kendrick, Jason Bateman, Danny McBride and Zach Galifianakis join Clooney in the cast ensemble.

Debuted at Telluride Film Festival, it has received rave reviews and become the highest profile hit at the film festival. Targeting a December 4 U.S. release, it is set to have its world premiere at 2009 Toronto International Film Festival which runs from September 10 to 19.
