Both stars have opened up about the loss of their best friend DJ AM, who was found dead at his N.Y.C. apartment on Friday, August 28.

AceShowbiz - Singer-actress Mandy Moore said she is "absolutely heartbroken" by the death of her then-boyfriend DJ AM. Sharing her grief with Us Weekly, she stated "To say that he will be missed beyond words is an understatement. My heart goes out to his loved ones." The 25-year-old star then added, "For those of us lucky enough to have known him, Adam radiated a contagious exuberance for life and also personified the very definition of a true friend."

Moore, who is now married to singer-songwriter Ryan Adams, briefly dated AM for two months in early 2007. They have since then remained good friends. She rushed to his side when he was involved in a tragic jet crash with fellow musician Travis Barker back in September 2008. They briefly rekindled their relationship following the accident.

Travis himself has also expressed his grief upon losing AM. The drummer of Blink-182 tweeted on Saturday night, August 29, before the band's concert in Hartford, Connecticut, "Don't know how i am gonna play 2night but i am for AM. My brother is gone.i love u and miss u, i'll never forget all the good times we had."

"I'll never forget everything we've been thru and every time i play the drums i'll think of you. U were an amazing friend/DJ/human being," he continued before then concluding, "Rest In Peace my brother, this really f***s me up."

DJ AM, 36, was found dead at his New York City apartment on Friday, August 28. He reportedly was already dead when officers arrived at his pad in response to a 911 call which was claimed to be made by a friend. "He was found in his bedroom, in bed, face down," a police source confirmed, adding that the DJ was not wearing shirt but was wearing pants.

At the time of writing, there has been no word issued by DJ AM's family on burial plan.
