Melanie Griffith has checked herself into rehab, and amidst speculation on the cause that prompts her to seek treatment, her representative Robin Baum has confirmed the actress' latest trip to rehab is a routine. "She is there to reinforce her commitment to stay healthy," says Robin.
"This is part of a routine plan that was designed between her and her doctors years ago," Robin stresses. In the meantime, multiple sources report Melanie is currently staying at Cirque Lodge in Utah.
Melanie Griffith's latest rehab stint marks her third one in recent years. The wife of actor Antonio Banderas sought treatment in 2000 for an addiction to painkillers, which she started using after suffering a neck injury. In 1998, she also spent time at a facility to battle alcoholism and cocaine addiction.
