Instead of performing, Britney Spears will be seen attending Teen Choice Awards to collect Ultimate Choice Award.

AceShowbiz - Previously confirming on her official website that she will perform at this year's Teen Choice Awards, Britney Spears clarified the announcement, stating she will not sing. "[Britney] is not performing at the TCAs. We are deeply sorry for any confusion and disappointment and appreciate the ongoing dedication of Britney's wonderful fans," so it read.
Though so, it is confirmed that Britney will still attend the annual event alongside the likes of "Twilight" cast and "Glee" stars. A representative from the awards tells Access Hollywood that the singer will be honored with Ultimate Choice Award.
Beside going to receive Ultimate Choice Award, Britney will also have a chance to win prizes from three categories in which she has been nominated. She is vying for Choice Music: Single, Choice Music: Female Artist and Choice Music: Tour.
2009 Teen Choice Awards itself will be held on Monday, August 10 at 8:00 -10:00 PM ET/PT and aired live on FOX. Jonas Brothers have been tapped to make a hosting job, while Miley Cyrus, Black Eyed Peas, Sean Kingston are billed as its musical guests.
Other celebrities who will attend the upcoming event, which will honor the hottest teen icons in film, television, music and pop culture views, include soccer player David Beckham, artistic gymnast Shawn Johnson, television hostess Ellen DeGeneres and TV personality Kim Kardashian.
