'Maybe they're trying to shut me up but good luck because they've picked the wrong girl,' Joss Stone says of what happens between her and EMI.

AceShowbiz - Joss Stone is disappointed that her upcoming fourth studio album "Colour Me Free" is shelved by her record label for indefinite time. The soul singer/songwriter recently decided to fight back against the recording company by showcasing some of her new songs in a charity event.

"I'll sing some of my new songs. They're just jams and I love them. They were recorded about two years ago but I have been in a war with my label," Joss told The Daily Star. "I'm just going to sing anyway and if they would like to turn out my album one day that would be nice."

Joss explained her disappointment further, "Maybe they're trying to shut me up but good luck because they've picked the wrong girl." She then added, "I've no idea when it will be released as it's not up to me."

The event where Joss plans to reveal some of her new songs will be held at O2 Rockwell on September 11. In this gig, she will be singing alongside other musical guests Robert Plant and Razorlight.

Joss Stone is not only furious over the postponed album but also angry with the fact that bosses at EMI blocked her desire to quit her contract. She reportedly was willing to pay 2 million dollars to split from the giant recording company, but executives at the label refused to let her go.
