AceShowbiz - The first official and full trailer of "Whiteout" has been released by Warner Bros. and Dark Castle and debuted via IGN. Presenting Antarctica as the most unfriendly and isolated landmass in the world, the promo video for the drama thriller explains that nature is not the only thing to fear with a shocking mystery waiting to be solved.
Three days before Carrie Stetko is planned to depart back to home after two years stationed at Antarctica's South Pole research base, a body turns up on the ice. The lone U.S. Marshal is thus immediately thrust into Antarctica's first murder investigation. But, the deeper she gets into the investigation, the death toll mounts and the mystery deepens.
Facing shifting loyalties, deadly whiteouts, and a relentless killer who will stop at nothing to protect a secret buried for over sixty years, she now has to race against time before Antarctica is plunged into six months of darkness and she is stranded with the killer on a land where nothing comes in and no one gets out.
Based on the 1999 comic book of the same name by Greg Rucka and Steve Lieber, "Whiteout" is directed by Dominic Sena. Kate Beckinsale stars as Carrie Stetko and is joined by Gabriel Macht, Alex O'Loughlin and Columbus Short among others in the cast ensemble. September 11 will be the date this Joel Silver and Susan Downey-produced movie hits U.S. theaters.
