The Brad Pitt's adoptive mother in 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' reveals her involvement with the project rumored to be called 'Kung Fu Kid' on the red carpet of 2009 MTV Movie Awards.

AceShowbiz - Jaden Smith's on-screen mother in "The Karate Kid" remake has been found in Taraji P. Henson. The Academy Award-nominated actress revealed her involvement with the project to MTV on the red carpet of the network's 2009 Movie Awards show. "I'm off to Beijing [soon] to work on a film," she gushed. "They're remaking 'The Karate Kid'."

"Jaden Smith - Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith's son - is playing the karate kid. I'm playing his mom," the 38-year-old went on explaining. "And Jackie Chan is playing Mr. Miyagi." Words are, her character is called Sherry, a single mother who has to move with her son to China in order to keep her job.

This is not the first time, Henson plays a mother. She is notably known as Brad Pitt's adoptive mom, Queenie, in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button". She will be joining the production of this project, which is rumored to be titled "Kung Fu Kid", after she finishes filming Shawn Levy's "Date Night".

The remake of "The Karate Kid", "Untitled Karate Kid Remake", has set to see Jaden Smith as the new Daniel LaRusso. Jaden's father, Will, will serve as the project's producer, while the movie will be filmed in Beijing, China. Scripted by Chris Murphy, it deals with the same plot elements, a bullied teenager learning to stand up for himself with the help of an eccentric mentor. Mr. Miyagi role had reportedly been changed to the name of Mr. Han.
