In a shocking statement, Brooke Shields let it slip that she lost her virginity only at the ripe age of 22, but she wished it could have happened "earlier". The actress who shot nude scenes at the age of 12, revealed that she used to be insecure with how she looked and that contributes to the fact that she waited until 22 to have sex.

"I think I would have lost my virginity earlier than I did at 22," Brooke stated to Health magazine. "I had the public and all this pressure, and I wish I had just gotten it over with in the beginning when it was sort of OK. I think I would have been much more in touch with myself."

Brooke stunned the world when she starred as a child prostitute in the 1978 movie "Pretty Baby" but her nude scenes had been cut from several releases. During her mid-teens she appeared in several sexy ads for Calvin Klein plus enrolling in "The Blue Lagoon" where she had to film a making love scene with co-star Christopher Atkins at the age of 15.

She graduated from Princeton University in 1987 with a degree in French literature and it was during this time of year that she felt insecure about her weight. "I think I wouldn't have had issues with weight. I carried this protective 20 pounds (in college). It was all connected," Brooke recalled.

Brooke Shield was married to tennis ace Andre Agassi in 1997 but it was annulled two years later. She has been married to TV writer Chris Henchy since 2001 and has two daughters.
