As a token of appreciation for the support that his wife, Katy O'Connell Allen, has shown him throughout "American Idol" competition, Kris Allen plans to take her on a vacation.

AceShowbiz - Winner of "American Idol" season 8, Kris Allen, thanks his wife Katy O'Connell Allen for the support she has given him throughout the singing competition that he can finally win. "My wife has been the [best] support ever," he tells Ellen DeGeneres during a taping for her show "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", which is to be aired on Tuesday, May 26.
"I seriously almost gave up a lot, and she was just like, 'You have to keep going.' She believed in me more than I believed in myself," he recalls. Hence, as an appreciation for Katy, Kris says he plans to take her on a vacation. He, however, keeps further details of the plan private.
In another Kris Allen news, he has revealed on the call with the press on Friday morning, May 22 that he won't take wife Katy O'Connell Allen with him while he is touring this summer. "We'll probably try to keep it separate just because more than anything, I don't want her following me around," he testified.
"And she has things that she is passionate about, and she will start doing those things. I believe in her just like she believes in me. Things are definitely going to change, but we're really strong," he explained. "She's really passionate about acting, and she's got some other passions as well, just helping people. I know she wants to start some foundations and stuff like that."
