Amy Winehouse is getting a documentary treatment. The news was brought up to public attention through a post uploaded in her MySpace page, stating that the 25-year-old singer and her family "will be the subject of a new documentary" by Israeli-American interviewer Daphne Barak. The documentary is tentatively entitled "Saving Amy".
Revealing that the movie is expected to be released later this year, the post suggested that the documentary is made using footage Barak took when spending time with Amy and her family recently on St. Lucia. The movie is to be developed "in true honest to goodness Amy style, the doc will be a truthful and revealing look at her complicated life."
Meanwhile, Daphne Barak, in an interview with U.K.'s Sunday Times, recalled what she noticed of the singer while in St. Lucia. "When the food arrives, she insists on serving us," the journalist shared. "Because she is busy feeding us, no one seems to notice that she isn't eating; she is just pushing the food around her plate. I wonder, not for the last time, if she has truly overcome her anorexia."
