The mastermind behind "High School Musical" series, Kenny Ortega, has been billed to direct Michael Jackson's concerts in London's O2 Arena. The guy who previously worked with Michael for the King of Pop's "Dangerous" and "HIStory" tours reportedly has helped Michael in choosing several main dancers for the forthcoming gigs during an audition in Los Angeles.
Regarding their reunion as partners, Kenny says, "To be invited to partner with him again is a dream come true." He adds, "Working with Michael is always a true and full partnership, he is a creative mastermind, he assembles top professionals to lead his team and then inspires each and every one of us to climb to new places, break out of the box and conquer new challenges. He is the most significant artist and entertainer of our generation."
On what he will bring in to make the show "not just a concert," Kenny shares that there will be "a complete theatrical musical experience with a dynamic balance that features Jackson in both spectacular production and intimate settings." He elaborates more, "The stage set, choreography, costumes, lighting, effects and overall production will be of the highest standard and pushing the state of the art."
With the recruitment of such high profile name, it is no wonder if the budget for Michael's concerts is rumored to be over $20 million.
Michael Jackson's live concerts in London are titled "This Is It" and will be held at O2 Arena. It is planned to be kicked off on Thursday, July 30, 2009 and will be wrapped up on February 24, 2010. More information about his upcoming shows can be checked on his official website.
Most recently, AllGood Entertainment threatened to file legal document against Michael because he allegedly is not allowed to conduct any show before going on a tour with Jackson Five following an agreement rumored signed by his manager back in November 2008. Up to date, Michael offers no comment on the issue.
