ACM Awards winner Julianne Hough said that she is taking a break from the dancing career to channel her energy to singing and performing the 'real' her.

AceShowbiz - Julianne Hough may be known for her moves on the dance floor but she is also an acclaimed musician. Finding that her schedule is cramped with both activities, the 20-year-old decides to let go the dancing stint on "Dancing with the Stars" in order to focus on her singing career.

"I will be taking next season off," Hough confirmed to Fox News. She is currently in the eight season of the dancing competition, partnering with real-life boyfriend, Chuck Wicks. "I wasn't planning to come back this season because I wanted to focus on my music," Hough said further. "But I went back and it's been so much fun to dance with my good friend who happens to be my boyfriend."

Hough gave more details on her reason to quit to E! News, citing that she is "exhausted and overworked". However she assured fans that this may not be permanent for she is open to do "guest things on the show".

Julianne Hough was a big winner at Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday, April 5. She claimed Top New Artist in addition to Top New Female Vocalist. "I had such a great weekend at the ACMs and taking home those awards was all because of the fans and I want to prove to them that I deserve those," Hough gushed. "So I want to make the best record I can possible and show everyone I'm committed and that's where my heart is. It's hard to do both and there's a step you have to take."
