Contrary to earlier report, Samantha Ronson's attorney, David Bass, has confirmed that his client isn't pursuing a restraining order against Lindsay Lohan, whom she has dumped last week after nearly two years of dating. "Samantha has no plan to request a restraining order. There is no basis for one," David says in a statement.
In the same tone with David, a source close to Samantha testifies, "Sam does not want a restraining order against Lindsay Lohan. Sam had nothing to do with the restraining order against Lindsay that the police are talking about." The source reveals further, "Sam and Lindsay are broken up, but Sam does not feel she's in any danger whatsoever. She thinks the whole thing is absurd."
After numerous break-up rumors, Lindsay Lohan publicly confirmed on Monday, April 6 that she and Samantha Ronson have gone separate ways after dating on and off since May 2008. The exact reason that ignited their separation remains unknown.
Soon following Lindsay's break-up confirmation, report emerged that Samantha's family tried to seek restraining order against the actress-singer. The DJ's mother Ann Dexter-Jones and sister Charlotte Ronson, as reported by US Weekly, have asked Beverly Hills police on the procedures they need to take in order to obtain an order preventing Lindsay to get close to Samantha.
Despite confirmation issued by a spokeswoman for the Beverly Hills Police Department regarding that matter, no legal papers have been filed though. Besides, a source insists that despite their recent split, Samantha and Lindsay "are totally communicating."
