AceShowbiz - Andre Benjamin, who is also known as Andre 3000, was arrested in his home state of Georgia on Saturday, March 28 for speeding. He reportedly drove his 2007 Porsche Carrera 109 mph in a 65 mph zone.
News on his arrest was first reported by TMZ. It was claimed in a report on the site that the rapper, best known for his work in the music group OutKast, was taken to the Henry County Jail. There he took a mugshot before then posting $1,200 bail. He was eventually released a few hours later.
Confirming Andre's arrest, Capt. Jason Bolton of the Henry County Police told Atlanta's WSB-TV, "He checked that speed on his laser device which showed 109 miles per hour. Traveling that fast along I-75, you're passing vehicles almost like they're standing still. And it's an accident waiting to happen."
According to Capt. Jason, by the time his ride was stopped by police, Andre told them he ran his car very fast because "he was headed to a birthday party." His next arraignment is set for April 29.
