Making most of their Super Bowl coverage, NBC had taken the opportunity to introduce their new dramas that will come in Spring season, "Southland" and "Kings". "We're hitting [the individual] shows, but we're also trying to get across the message that we're committed to dramatic scripted programming," said John Miller, chief marketing officer for NBC Universal.

In "Southland", Benjamin McKenzie who earned credit in "The O.C.", plays a young rookie cop named Ben Sherman who is trained by John Cooper (Michael Cudlitz). Cooper's honest, no-nonsense approach to the job leaves Sherman questioning whether or not he has what it takes to become a police officer. Coming from Emmy Award winners John Wells, Ann Biderman and Chris Chulack, "Southland" will debut April 9 at 10/9c to replace "ER".

"Kings" meanwhile, is an inspiring exploration of the timeless David vs. Goliath struggle. The show is set in a modern metropolis under siege, where the fighting has gone on for too long and cost far too many lives. Christopher Egan stars as David Shepherd who rescues the King's (Ian McShane) son from the enemy's clutch. It will premiere March 15 at 8/7c.

In addition to "Southland" and "Kings", NBC plan to debut six dramas and four comedies next season.
