Though making Nick Fury cameo in 'Iron Man', Samuel L. Jackson hints that he may not be seen as the character in none of Marvel's future superhero films, including 'Iron Man 2' and 'The Avengers'.

AceShowbiz - Despite making a cameo appearance as Nick Fury at the end of "Iron Man", Samuel L. Jackson may no longer be seen as the S.H.I.E.L.D. director in the future installments of Marvel's superhero films. Breaking out the speculation was Jackson himself when talking to Geoff Boucher of the Los Angeles Times blog, Hero Complex.

Suggesting that he probably won't tackle the part in "Iron Man 2", "The First Avenger: Captain America" and "The Avengers", the 60-year-old pointed out that there has been a negotiation break-down. "There was a huge kind of negotiation that broke down," he stated. "I don't know. Maybe I won't be Nick Fury. Maybe somebody else will be Nick Fury or maybe Nick Fury won't be in it."

The actor who starred as Jedi Master Mace Windu in "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" further explained, "There seems to be an economic crisis in the Marvel Comics world so [they're saying to me], 'We're not making that deal.'" Though hinting of the possible re-casting, Jackson noted that he and director Jon Favreau has had a conversation at the Scream Awards, where Favreau said, "I hope things are working out for you because we're writing stuff for you."

On the Marvel's part, Los Angeles Times noted that Marvel Comics still want to see Jackson donning the eyepatch as the bald African-American general. However, Marvel's spokesperson also let out a response, stating with the emphasis on the word "active", "Marvel does not comment on active negotiations."
