The "Gold Digger" rapper has been added as the artist to perform at the political convention held in support of Barack Obama's presidential campaign.

AceShowbiz - The upcoming Democratic party convention, to be held on August 25, looks set to turn into a star studded party. After previously Usher reportedly will be singing at the event, the latest news said that Kanye West will also perform at the convention. Unlike the "Love in this Club" singer who is still in negotiation, reports said that Kanye has already been confirmed as one of the performers at the political convention.

Beside the "Gold Digger" rapper, other musicians that have also been confirmed to join him and perform at the event are N.E.R.D and Wyclef Jean. Beside those performers, the convention held to support Barack Obama's upcoming presidential campaign, will also feature the arrival of Hollywood celebrities, such as Scarlett Johansson, Ben Affleck, Forest Whitaker, Edward Norton and many more.

Meanwhile, not only preparing himself to appear at the upcoming event, Kanye is also setting up to premiere a new music video soon. The rapper reportedly has begun to shoot the clip for his sixth single "Champion", which is being directed by Neon.

On the song, the rapper speaks up about his personal life especially his distant relationship with his father. Moreover, the music from the track itself reportedly was sampled from jazz/rock band Steely Dan's 1976 song "Kid Charlemagne".
