'Wanted' Sequel Down the Line

Giving an update to the sequel speculation of hit Timur Bekmambetov's action movie 'Wanted', it is now said that the second movie is being worked on.

AceShowbiz - With "Wanted (2008)" generating much surprise on its box office performance, sequel talks quickly follow afterwards. The hype was boosted with Terence Stamp's earlier remarks hinting the possibility of a second movie. Recently, news circulating around "Wanted 2" suggested that the talks have gone even further.

Words are "Wanted" producer Marc Platt has already begun to work once again with director Timur Bekmambetov and writers Michael Brandt and Derek Haas on the sequel plot. Going back to produce the sequel with fellow producer Jim Lemley, Platt revealed, "The writers are at work already, and those creative discussions are taking place."

Starring James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie, the Mark Millar's graphic novel adaptation has been viewed in theaters starting on June 27. Creating a surprise among the box office watchers, the movie opened big collecting $50.9 million over its first three days weekend in North America only. Since then, it has grossed about $112.5 million domestically and $176.1 million worldwide.
