Much contrary to reports, Rimmel isn't replacing Kate Moss for pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Coty Inc. has confirmed.

Despite rumors to the contrary, Kate Moss will remain as the face of make-up giant Rimmel. Coty Inc. has confirmed that Rimmel isn't replacing the supermodel for pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Earlier this week reports surfaced that Moss has been replaced as the face of Rimmel by singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who's considered to be the perfect choice for the brand as the company is looking for a younger model. "Kate Moss has been fantastic but Rimmel wanted a new, fresh face. Sophie was the obvious choice," a source told the Sunday Mirror at that time.

Stephen Mormoris, senior vice president of Coty Beauty worldwide, has quashed the report though, issued a statement saying, "Kate Moss is a worldwide inspiration and leader in fashion and beauty, and has been an iconic face for Rimmel London. I am thrilled we are continuing our professional partnership."

On Sophie Ellis-Bextor's recruitment as the new face of the brand, the company explained, "because Rimmel London is one of the fastest growing cosmetic brands globally and reaching a significant critical mass in sales, Coty is considering other models to work alongside Kate Moss to reach new global markets in Asia, South America, and the Middle East."
