Jack Black to Release 'Kung Fu Fighting' Cover Song

The actor slash musician's cover song which will be one of the tracks for his upcoming flick "Kung Fu Panda" has been confirmed its release date.

AceShowbiz - After finishing his new movie "Kung Fu Panda", Jack Black will now get back to his music roots still in support of the movie. Jack will soon release a cover version of Carl Douglas 1974 hit song "Kung Fu Fighting" as the soundtrack of the upcoming movie.

On the track Jack will team up with one of Gnarls Barkley's member Cee-Lo. The song will be dropped via digital outlets on May 27, while the full soundtrack album of the movie is set to hit the stores on June 3, three days before the flick gets its official release on June 6.

Commenting about his involvements on the cover song Cee-Lo said, "It was inspiring and an honor to have the opportunity to reintroduce the record to a brand new audience, sprinkled with a little of me on top." Before being featured on "Kung Fu Panda", the song has also been used in other movies, one of them is on "Rush Hour 3".

Meanwhile, not only preparing to release its audio version, Jack and Cee-Lo have also prepared to shoot the music video for "Kung Fu Fighting". The upcoming video will be directed by Elliot Lester. However no premiere date has been mentioned.

Beside being known as an actor, Jack is also famous for his musical project. He is the lead singer of a comedy rock act Tenacious D teaming up with fellow actor/musician Kyle Gass.
