Demi Moore has told U.S. talk show host David Letterman that she underwent leech therapy in Austria last week to combat aging.

AceShowbiz - Oldie but goodie, that's Demi Moore. The 46-year-old actress, who's married to 30-year-old actor Ashton Kutcher, has openly revealed that blood sucking leeches help keep her beating the signs of aging.

Demi told U.S. talk show host David Letterman during her appearance on his show Monday night, March 24, that she underwent leech therapy in Austria last week. "I've always been somebody looking for the cutting edge of things that are for optimizing your health and healing, so just a week ago I was in Austria doing a cleanse and part of the treatment was leech therapy," so she told Letterman.

But, "These aren't just swamp leeches though - we are talking about highly trained medical leeches. These are not some low level scavengers - we're talking high level blood suckers," Demi explained, adding that they tested a leech out on her belly button before putting several others on different areas of her body.

She revealed further, the leeches "have a little enzyme that when they are biting down in you it gets released in your blood and generally you bleed for quite a bit - and your health is optimized. It detoxifies your blood - I'm feeling very detoxified right now."

Convinced that leeches are effective, Demi plans to return to Austria for more sessions, saying "You first feel worse then you feel better. But I'm going back - I only got 4 leeches and I feel a bit cheated."

Demi is the mother of three daughters; Rumer Willis, Scout LaRue, and Tallulah Belle, whom she has with former husband, actor Bruce Willis. She's the star of the new movie "Flawless" which has been set for a March 28 release date.
