Missy Elliott Goes 3-D for New Music Video

3-D glasses will be handed out in time for the premiere of Missy Elliott's new video that combines two of her songs 'Ching-a-Ling' and 'Shake Your Pom Pom'.

AceShowbiz - Missy Elliott and Walt Disney Studios will take on a rather new approach in music video production, combining two Elliott's songs 'Ching-a-Ling' and 'Shake Your Pom Pom' in a single 3-D video. It will be premiered on MTV on Monday, February 4 during the 'TRL' show, and 3-D glasses will be distributed beforehand through various promotions.

On the idea itself, Glen Lajeski, Disney's executive for music, creative and marketing said, "It was a perfect fit. Missy always wanted to do a 3-D music video, and Disney has done a lot of movies in 3-D."

The 3-D video is directed by Dave Meyers who have worked with Elliott in her previous videos such as 'Get Ur Freak On' and 'Work It'. Meanwhile, the 3-D work is done by Pace and Fotokem, a company that also penned the same work for 'Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour'.

Elliott's songs are utilized for the soundtrack to Disney's 'Step Up 2 the Streets' which will hit theaters on Valentine's day (February 14). They will also appear on her studio album which release date is expected to be in May.

The 3-D music video will be played on a special screening of the film on February 5 in New York where Elliott is also scheduled to attend. A 2-D version of is also planned to be released.

Apart from Elliott, the soundtrack to the film also features songs from Flo Rida, T-Pain, Cassie, Plies and many more. It will be released on February 5.
