Madonna has been given the green-light by the Malawian government to adopt son David Banda.

AceShowbiz - Just yesterday she sparked heavy media speculation on a possible facelift, and now Madonna is reported to have been given an okay by the Malawian government to adopt son David Banda.

The pop goddess and husband Guy Ritchie's adoption of two-years-old David has finally been approved by the Malawian government, more than a year after the couple took David to Britain.

A source tells American magazine In Touch Weekly, "Madonna hid it well, but there was a part of her that was worried that the adoption wouldn't go through. She is beyond relieved that this ordeal is behind her and that David is now her son. This is the best Christmas gift she's ever received."

Madonna was accused by some human rights groups to have bent the adoption rules to take David to the UK from the African country and was originally granted temporary custody of the boy. She, however, denied the claim, insisted she's gone through the right procedures.
