There will be many beauty faces to look at in "The Spirit", this is for sure. Following the inclusion of Scarlett Johansson and Eva Mendes, filmmakers of the project have smoothly added two more female names into the cast, which turn out to be Paz Vega and Jaime King.
Vega is reported to play the knife-wielding Plaster of Paris while King fills in the role of a phantom siren named Lorelei Rox. Leading the lineup is New York-born actor Gabriel Macht as the titular character aka Denny Colt, who fakes his own death and fights crime from the shadows of Central City.
Other cast members include Samuel L. Jackson as villainous The Octopus, Louis Lombardi as one of Octopus' henchmen Phobos, and Sarah Paulson as Dr. Ellen Dolan, among others. Shooting begins today, Monday, October 7, 2007 in New Mexico under the direction of Frank Miller for a targeted January 16, 2009 release.
