Entrusting an experienced one to do a major overhaul on its new film project titled "Darksiders", New Line Cinema has assigned Laeta Kalogridis to work on a rewrite for the screenplay of the vampire tale, Variety has reported.

Kalogridis was previously known to be the screenwriter for "Night Watch", the Timur Bekmambetov-directed hit fantasy action thriller, which featured vampires as the members of Dark Others. For her new stint, she will revised the spec New Line purchased from Tom S. Parker and Jim Jennewein in 2001.

Meanwhile, pic is said to present the story of an FBI agent who teams up with a bunch of the blood-sucking creatures to catch an arms trader with biochemical weapons. It will go back out to directors once Kalogridis finishes her rewrite.

Apart from "Night Watch", other recent works of Kalogridis include "Alexander" and "Pathfinder" as well as some episodes of NBC series "Bionic Woman", which she also executive produced. She in fact still has two more projects to work on, namely "The Dive" and "Battle Angel", both for renowned director James Cameron.
