The Hollywood break up has been confirmed. Larry Williams, the father of movie siren Michelle Williams, has confirmed reports her daughter has ended her three year relationship with actor fiance Heath Ledger.

Speaking exclusively to The Daily Telegraph, a prominent stock trader based in Australia Larry said, "We've known about their troubles for a while but it's always a very difficult thing in life when these things happen. I know Heath and Michelle still care about each other deeply and are very committed to being great parents to their daughter."

Put the blame on the pressures of Hollywood film industry for the couple's break up, Larry revealed, "You can never be stunned by what happens in Hollywood. I learned that when we were dealing with Michelle's career when she was younger. Michelle was grown up at 16, and just like Heath, her life has had an extremely fast pace to it. But they are both very talented artists and they live with their hearts. I feel tremendously for her, and for him and hope they will find what they want in life."

It was reported earlier this week that Michelle and Ledger have "quietly and amicably split a few weeks ago". No details on when exactly they called it quit nor do it is explained why they decided so. Only a source claimed close to the couple was quoted as saying, "It was rocky for awhile. They did what they could to make it work."

Ledger and Williams met while they were filming "Brokeback Mountain" in 2004. They later on engaged and have one daughter together, Matilda Rose Ledger, who was born on October 28, 2005.
