Paul McCartney comes to denial about the much covered speculation on him romancing Renee Zellweger.

Contrary to media reports, the former Beatle has denied speculation that he's dating the Hollywood actress, insisted "We're not dating. We're in the same group of friends and that's it."

Macca and Renee sparked romance rumors when they were spotted gone on a series of dates recently in the Hamptons in New York state. The two stars got to know each other during Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' concert at the Ross School in East Hampton, New York back on August 25th where he spends his time holidaying.

They then spotted having a romantic candlelit dinner at the exclusive American Hotel in Sag Harbour on Thursday night August 30th. It is said that both of them spent two hours at the Victorian-style hotel's dining rooms which "are extremely dimly lit, mostly with candlelight."

Has put the brake on the false Renee rumors, Sir Paul is currently undergoing divorce proceedings with his estranged partner Heather Mills.
