Mystery continues to surround on J.J. Abrams-produced monster movie "1-18-08." Also referred as "Cloverfield", the project now is speculated to have a new title called "Overnight."
A posting on Slashfilm.com has informed a new trademark named "Overnight" was registered on July 18, 2007 for the use in "motion picture, television and music production and distribution services" by attorneys known to be associates of Abrams. What makes things fishy here is that they also happen to be the ones registering the Slusho.jp, which has been presumed to be the viral website for the project, as well as the name of Abrams' production company, Bad Robot.
Talks on possible titles for the movie have been circulating ever since it was made known to public last month with some reports bringing up monikers like "Monstrous", "Slusho", and "Colossus." The newest one obviously would refer to the disastrous events of the film that take place over the course of a single night in New York City.
A Paramount Pictures production, "1-18-08" is currently in production in New York City under the direction of Matt Reeves with Michael Stahl-David, Odet Jasmin, and Greg Grunberg starring. Three teaser posters for the flick were previously launched at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, all showing the same image of the headless Liberty Statue, while attendees at the Paramount panel were given T-shirts featuring the "Slusho!" logo.
