At last things are getting clear for "Le Voyeur." After being stranded at Universal Pictures for four years, the flick finally will be developed under Columbia Pictures banner instead, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed.

Based on Alain Robbe-Grillet's 1955 novel of the same title, the thriller concerns a man who becomes a suspect in the murder of a female teen shortly after his return to the Caribbean island of his youth. Will Smith and James Lassiter are both set to produce via their Sony-based Overbrook Entertainment with Massy Tadjedin penning the script.

One of the giant film companies in Hollywood, Columbia is the successor of CBC Film Sales Corporation which was established by brothers Harry and Jack Cohn plus Joe Brandt in 1919. It is currently part of the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment.
