The one-year-old Malawian boy Madonna hopes to adopt is on his way to London after boarding a flight from South Africa.

David Banda, the one-year-old Malawian boy Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie want to adopt, left for England on Monday Oct 16th on a small, chartered flight heading toward South Africa. The boy has a group of people with him, which includes the singer's bodyguards and a nanny.
A woman carried the child through Johannesburg international airport to board the plane for London. Three male bodyguards tried to prevent reporters from photographing the boy, whose face was shielded by the woman's hand.
Liz Rosenberg, Madonna's publicist in New York, said the child was issued a passport and a visa Monday adding that Madonna is "going to do her best to not make it a public circus. It's not my sense that she would want to expose the whole thing to public scrutiny".
