Axl Rose was sued by an art broker in Los Angeles after allegedly failing to pay $2.36 million for a portrait of John Lennon.

Axl Rose is just one among the many Hollywood celebrities dealing with legal wrangle. The rocker has been sued by a Los Angeles art broker, claiming the star failed to pay $2.36 million for a portrait of John Lennon as done by Pop Art master Andy Warhol.
In the lawsuit, filed Sept. 11 in Los Angeles Superior Court, broker Acquire d'Arte stated that it negotiated with a New York art gallery and was able to lower the price of the artwork from $2.65 million to $2.36 million for Rose. However, after agreeing to buy the portrait, Rose paid only $1.21 million.
Rose's manager and attorney told the broker later on that the rocker would not pay the remaining balance because he didn't have enough money and "the painting was not worth the price he had agreed to pay," the lawsuit stated.
On the other hand, Rose's lawyer, Howard Weitzman, told the Associated Press, suggesting that his client may not have been fully aware of all of the strings attached to the deal. "It's my opinion that Axl Rose is the victim of some fraud or misrepresentation here".
