Sarandon will portray Melanie Lansing Winters, a woman in her 50's who is the wife of David Winters, played by Plummer, whose compulsive infidelity has cost him a tattered marriage and an embittered son (Dupuis). Meanwhile, Bryne has been billed to assume the role of a British novelist named Christopher Lewis with Von Sydow playing Jakob Bronski, a heroic dissident and veteran of a Soviet psychiatric hospital.

Slated to start filming next month in Quebec, pic is directed by Paolo Barzman and it will also have Jefferson Lewis to write the script. It will dig on the intricate possibilities of love and madness and the shadows the past throws upon the present that afflict the characters of the movie.
