Actress, Stockard Channing, known for the fictional president's wife role she plays in the U.S. television show The West Wing has been charged for drunk driving in Los Angeles after she was stopped by a C-H-P officer on December 14th for allegedly driving on the shoulder of Highway 101. A C-H-P spokesman reports that Channing blood-alcohol tests were point-12 and point-13 above the legal limit of point-of-eight.

For the charge, Channing was then put in jail for nearly three hours and then released without bail before she is scheduled to appear for an arraignment on 9 February, 2005.
