What begins as the ultimate party night for three college friends quickly spirals into a high-stakes moral dilemma in this sharp and socially conscious comedy-drama. Straight-laced pre-med student Kunle, played by Donald Elise Watkins, and his pragmatic best friend Sean, portrayed by RJ Cyler, have meticulously planned a legendary tour of campus parties. Their reluctant roommate Carlos, Sebastian Chacon, is along for the ride. Their plans are violently derailed when they return home to find an unconscious young woman, Sabrina Carpenter as Emma, on their living room floor with no memory of how she got there. Faced with a genuine medical emergency, the trio’s decision to help is fraught with paralyzing fear; as young Black and Latino men, they are terrified that calling the police will lead to a dangerous misunderstanding. Directed by Carey Williams from a script by K.D. Davila, "Emergency" masterfully blends laugh-out-loud humor with gripping tension as the friends embark on a chaotic, all-night odyssey to get the stranger help on their own terms, testing their friendship and their convictions at every turn.
