Thomas first gained traction with his Slimeball mixtape series, which established his underground following and eventually led to a deal with RCA Records and Same Plate Entertainment. In 2018, he released Slimeball 3 under those labels, marking a significant step in his commercial rise. The following year proved pivotal: his collaborative album with producer Pi'erre Bourne, titled Sli'merre, became his breakout project and peaked at number 63 on the Billboard 200.
