Formed in Churchville, Pennsylvania in 1999 under the initial name Sunday Drive, the band—vocalist and bassist Kenny Vasoli, guitarist Matt Watts, guitarist Mike Golla, and drummer Tom Gryskewicz—quickly became a staple on the Drive-Thru Records roster, a label synonymous with the era's defining sound. Their journey from local shows to national recognition captured the spirit of a generation, making their eventual return to music a significant event for fans around the world.

The band's early success was propelled by their 2002 debut EP, "With Hopes of Starting Over," and its follow-up, "The Make Yourself at Home EP," which featured the fan-favorite acoustic track "The Best of Me." Their first full-length album, "Say It Like You Mean It," arrived later that year, solidifying their place in the pop-punk landscape with anthems like "Up & Go" and "Leaving." After years of anticipation from their loyal following, The Starting Line staged a remarkable comeback in September 2025 with the release of their fourth full-length album, "Eternal Youth."
