Finding out that his appearance fee at a Scottish nightclub has been reduced to only $270, the singer-turned actor fumed at the promoter and got kicked off the venue.
British singer Lee Ryan was escorted out of an Edinburgh, Scotland nightclub in the early hours of Wednesday morning, April 14 following an argument with a promoter who allegedly cut his appearance fee because he was late. The former Blue star agreed a payment of $525 to meet fans at the city's Lulu nightspot to promote his role in new U.K. gangster film, "The Heavy".
But after turning up for the gig an hour late, events promoter Laithy B Pal reportedly sliced the payment in half, handing the star $270 for his work. But Ryan was left fuming and was allegedly removed from the club by security guards after the disagreement turned nasty, according to Britain's The Sun newspaper.
A source tells the publication, "Ryan expected his full fee and lost it when he didn't get it. He yelled, 'I'm not f**king green (naive), I've been in this game for 10 years.' He told Laithy, 'I'll rip your face off, I'm from South London.' He was acting like someone out of his film, but it didn't wash. It was hilarious. The management had him thrown out."
A rep for Ryan says, "He was unavoidably late after being delayed."
