In a new interview, the 70-year-old 'Seinfeld' alum and creator shows remorse after criticizing the radio personality's 'comedy chops' on his radio show.

AceShowbiz - Jerry Seinfeld has issued an apology to Howard Stern for calling him not funny. In a new interview, the "Seinfeld" alum and creator showed remorse after criticizing the radio personality's "comedy chops."

"I really feel bad for what I said about my friend Howard Stern in a conversation with David Spade and Dana Carvey," Jerry told Page Six on Wednesday, May 8. "Talking about the glut of comedy podcasts."

He went on to say, "I meant to say he must feel surrounded but I said 'outflanked' which sounded terrible and insulting. And of course, none of these little shows are any threat to his giant show. Anyway, it was bad and I'm sorry, Howie. I still love you. Please forgive me."

Jerry made the shady comments about Howard during his appearance in the Wednesday episode of the "Fly on the Wall" podcast. In the episode, Jerry discussed the popularity of podcasts, adding that Howard basically invented the format.

"But we're better than him now," the 70-year-old told hosts David and Dana. "Howard is interesting. Howard is a great interviewer, but comedy chops, I mean, can we speak candidly?"

Dana, however, noted that Howard's show is slightly comical because of the influence of his longtime co-host, Robin Quivers. Jerry responded, "Yeah, they're all great but let's face it, he's been outflanked."

The producer furthered there are better comedy podcasts on the air, with Carvey and Spade's show being the best. "This is the best one on the air," Jerry praised. "Because you guys play nice together, it's smooth, you're not jumping on each other, which is annoying to listen to."

Howard, on the other hand, has yet to comment on Jerry's comment and apology.
