The iconic 'Star Wars' actor recalls meeting the President and participating in a White House press briefing, sharing his admiration for the president's achievements and coining a new nickname for him.

AceShowbiz - The "Star Wars" legend Mark Hamill dropped in on Friday's White House press briefing, where he opened up about his meeting with President Joe Biden moments before. "I called him 'Mr. President,' " Hamill said, recalling their introduction.

"And he said, 'You can call me Joe.' And I said, 'Can I call you Joebi-Wan Kenobi?' And he liked that." The president not only enjoyed Hamill's humor but also presented him with some White House swag, including aviator glasses. "I love the merch, love it all," Hamill joked.

Initially expecting a brief visit, Hamill was impressed by Biden's warmth and hospitality. "He showed us all these photographs," he shared. "He was really amazing to me."

Hamill acknowledged that he had previously visited the Carter and Obama White Houses, but never had the honor of entering the Oval Office, making this encounter "extra special."

Despite their brief press appearance, Hamill praised Biden's accomplishments, which had previously escaped his notice. "I was honored to be asked to come to the White House to meet the president, the most legislatively successful president in my lifetime," he declared.

Hamill cited the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the PACT Act, the CHIPS and Science Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act as evidence of Biden's effectiveness. "It just shows you how one person can be so influential and so positive in our lives," he said.

The exact reason for the meeting between Hamill and Biden remains unknown, but the actor's social media support for the president in the lead-up to the event suggests a shared political affinity.
