The former host of Nickelodeon's 'Double Dare' reveals that he walked out during an interview or the docuseries exposing abuse by Dan Schneider and former vocal coach Brian Peck.

AceShowbiz - Marc Summers, former host of Nickelodeon's "Double Dare", has shared his experience of being interviewed for the ID docuseries "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV". During an appearance on "Elvis Duran and the Morning Show," Summers revealed that he walked out during an interview or the docuseries.
He shared that he initially agreed to an interview about Nickelodeon but was unaware that it was for a documentary exposing the toxic culture at the network in the late 1990s and 2000s. "They asked me what I thought of Nick, and the first 10 to 12 seconds, from what I understand, in this documentary is me saying all these wonderful things. But they did a bait and switch on me," Summers said.
He claimed that the producers "ambushed" him and showed him disturbing footage from Nickelodeon shows produced by Dan Schneider. Shocked, Summers said, "Well, let's stop the tape right here. What are we doing?"
Summers, who hosted "Double Dare" before Schneider joined Nickelodeon, said he was unaware of the allegations against Schneider and former vocal coach Brian Peck. He walked out of the interview and was later told he was no longer part of the documentary.
However, a portion of his interview, including his reaction to the footage, was included in the first episode of "Quiet on Set". Summers believes the producers were "unethical" in their approach and "lied" about using the footage.
"What they didn't tell me - and they lied to me about - was the fact that they put in that other thing where they had the camera on me when they ambushed me. And so, now we get into a whole situation about who’s unethical," Summers said.
Summers has not met Schneider and denies any knowledge of the alleged misconduct. He said, "Those people came in after and took over our studios. I never met the man, I have no idea about any of those things."
A new bonus episode of "Quiet on Set" is scheduled to air on ID. Summers' complete interview on "Elvis Duran and the Morning Show" will be released on YouTube on Friday, April 5.
