During the special presentation of the HBO and Max 2024 content slate, it has been announced that season 3 of the Zendaya-starring drama will not arrive until 2025.

AceShowbiz - Fans of "Euphoria" are forced to wait a little bit longer for a new season of the hit HBO series. During the special presentation of the HBO and Max 2024 content slate on Thursday, November 2, it was announced that season 3 of the coming-of-age drama will not arrive until 2025.

HBO revealed during the presentation that the WGA strike, which ended in September, and the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike affected the production of the Zendaya Coleman-starring drama. It was also said that the filming for the third season will only start in 2024.

Upon learning of the release date, fans quickly took to social media to express their disappointment. "WTH. They're all gonna be 60 by the time the series finale comes around," an angry fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. Echoing the sentiment, one other joked that "the cast is going to be in a nursing home by then."

"How tho? It takes them like 3 years to film a season," another person fumed. "I was 27 when Season 2 was released, when Season 3 comes out I'll be 31," one other added.

Some others, meanwhile, suggested the streaming service to just cancel the Sam Levinson show altogether because people would gradually lose interest in it because they had to wait too long. "Just cancel it bro," one user penned, while another similarly said, "Cancel it imo."

The sophomore season of "Euphoria" ended in a cliffhanger. The finale saw the devastating death of Ashtray's (Javon Walton), Fezco's (Angus Cloud) little brother. Meanwhile, it remains unknown how the show will handle Angus' character following the actor's passing earlier this year.

Set in the fictional town of East Highland, California, "Euphoria" follows teens who are trying to deal with love, loss and addiction. Alongside Zendaya, the series stars Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira and Dominic Fike.
