The producer revealed the role of Black Panther in 'Civil War', saying that he would be 'a third party.'

AceShowbiz - Fans have already known that Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) will make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in upcoming superhero flick "Captain America: Civil War". In recent interview with Birth.Movies.Death, Marvel President Kevin Feige revealed the role of T'Challa a.k.a. Black Panther in the movie, hinting that he would be "a third party."

When Feige was asked why Black Panther was necessary to the plot of "Civil War", he said, "The reason we introduced him in Civil War is because we needed a third party. We needed fresh eyes, who wasn't embedded with the Avengers and who has a very different point of view than either Tony or Steve."

The upcoming movie will pit Marvel's superheroes against each other, but it seems like Black Panther will not be on anyone's side. Feige continued on explaining why he chose Black Panther for the movie, "We said, 'We need somebody like Black Panther... why don't we just use Black Panther?' That's how it went in the development process."

Feige also explained that Black Panther's debut in the upcoming film is still related to the event which occurred in "Avengers: Age of Ultron". In that movie, Ultron acquires a large shipment of vibranium which he got from Wakanda, an African nation where Black Panther's father becomes the only ruler.

"Today, pre-Civil War, post-Ultron I think [the Black Panther] and his father are saying, 'A bunch of vibranium just got out of here and wreaked a lot of havoc. Maybe we can't stay behind these borders anymore, maybe we have to stick our heads out and make at least an attempt to be a part of the rest of the world right now, while at the same time protecting our people.' That's sort of where we meet him in Civil War," Feige said of the upcoming movie.

"Civil War" will arrive on May 6, 2016 Stateside. Anthony and Joe Russo return as directors, Kevin Feige serves as producer, while Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely team up as screenwriters.
