Columbia Doing "The Swap"

Swap, The picture

Columbia Pictures has obtained rights to Antony Moore's upcoming book "The Swap" and will turn it into a big screen feature.

Keen to continue providing laughs for moviegoers, Columbia Pictures is on the move to make a new comedic feature entitled "The Swap" based on Antony Moore's upcoming novel of the same name of which screen rights it has successfully acquired.

Set to be produced by John Calley, the project is said to present a story about an out-of-shape comic book dealer whose feelings of inadequacy flare up when he is invited to his high school reunion with murder, romance, and the revelation of a long-held secret ensuing.

One of the giant film companies in Hollywood, Columbia is the successor of CBC Film Sales Corporation which was established by brothers Harry and Jack Cohn plus Joe Brandt in 1919. It is currently part of the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment and is on the brink to release the highly-anticipated "Spider-Man 3" in U.S. theaters this Friday, May 4.
