The county fair is in town and Randy is obsessed with going because they have the Smokey and the Bandit car on display. Earl promises Randy they can go as soon as he crosses one thing off his list.

Earl decides to pick something easy: No. 139, 'Stole Beer from a Golfer.'

Earl and Randy would go to the local country club and make Scott, a local golfer, think he kept shooting holes-in-one so he'd buy free rounds for everyone in the clubhouse.

Earl decides to confess to Scott about the beer and brings him caseloads of beer to make up for it. Only problem is, Scott became so obsessed with his golf game that he now lives in his car, got fired from his job and lost his girlfriend. Earl basically ruined his life.

Earl decides to help Scott out and get him all the things he lost because of golf. The only problem is, the fair is only in town for two more days and Randy is worried they'll miss it.

Earl is determined to help out Scott. He first gets him his job back. Then he reconnects him with his girlfriend, who lets Scott move back in. The last thing though ' Earl needs to find the dog that Scott's girlfriend put up for adoption.

Randy says there's no time for the dog and Earl berates him for not helping out and only caring about the fair. Randy runs off and takes Earl's car keys with him.

Earl can't find Randy anywhere. It finally dawns on him that he's just as obsessed with his list as Scott was with golf. He realizes that he's been putting it ahead of his brother and that's not right. He adds No. 260 to the list: 'Neglected Randy.'

Earl finally does find Randy. Turns out that Randy found Scott's dog and wanted to help Earl all along. Earl feels bad about making Randy miss the fair, so he rents the Smokey and the Bandit car from the fair and Randy gets to be the Bandit for the day.
