Medium Episode 7.03 Means and Ends

Scanlon sleeps in his car, dreaming of his brother, Paul, taking a beating from their dad for him when they were kids. He awakes and interrupts a domestic abuse situation, beating the man in front of the wife and child. Allison dreamt all of it and is confused by Paul's ghost being there, so she texts Lee to be sure he's ok. Devalos tells Allison that Scanlon beat Laurence Raymond and asks her to be a character witness. Allison hesitates. Ariel gets a call from her new college roommate, Melissa Drake, who suggests she and Ariel buy a used car. Ariel goes to look at a used car but envisions a girl, Rebecca, being drugged and taken. Her uncle, Gabe, says his niece went missing last night. Ariel tells Allison. That night, Melissa calls and Ariel hears her screaming and struggling. Joe and Allison call the cops who say that Melissa went missing and died 11 years ago. Ariel dreams of Rebecca's kidnapper, Gabe. Scanlon gets put on the case and Allison confides she saw what he did, he doesn't deny it. Haunted by Paul and with no sleep, Scanlon tails Gabe but breaks his cover by accident. Allison dreams Scanlon has drugs and he confides he let Paul be killed. Ariel connects Gabe to both Melissa's murder and Rebecca's disappearance. Devalos arrests Gabe and saves Rebecca. Allison doesn't testify for Scanlon when she dreams he blackmails Raymond's wife to lie for him on trial.
