CRIME WAVE CRIPPLES LONDON HIGH SOCIETY It's been a violent time for London's upper crust as of late. The past week has ushered in a vicious crime wave that has claimed the lives of four men and resulted in two missing children and an attack on the daughter of a prominent London physician.

Most notably, the honorable Lord Davenport was found murdered on his estate this morning, the result of a gunshot wound to the chest. Constables have yet to unearth any meaningful leads in the case, but Scotland Yard's top investigators are working tirelessly for any clues.

The two young children of Mr. Browning and his lovely wife have been abducted from their beds in the dark of night. An immediate investigation of the Browning estate revealed no signs of forced entry or violence and, as with the mysterious murder of Lord Davenport, investigators are currently at a loss for motives or suspects. Any resident with information pertaining to either case is instructed to contact Scotland Yard immediately.

Miss Mina Murray, the daughter of the respected physician, Dr. Murray, was brutally attacked during a late night session in the University's medical laboratory last night. Miss Murray reports that three attackers approached her in the lab, pinned her to a table and threatened to burn her with acid. Fortunately, the attackers were startled off and Miss Murray survived with only minor injuries.

In a possibly related story, the bodies of three men were found impaled on a fence across town. Is there a link between Miss Murray's attack and the three impaled bodies? And how did the bodies become so precariously perched on the fence? The case brings more questions than answers, but one fact seems clear: London high society is itching for answers.

LOVE IS DECIDEDLY NOT IN THE LONDON AIR It seems that crime isn't the only wave affecting London's upper crust this week. Rumors have been making rounds in the gossip circles regarding a pandemic of heartbreak in the city. First and most notably, it seems that Mr. Grayson and the honorable Lady Jayne Wetherby have called off their torrid affair. Our inside sources suggest that Mr. Grayson's heart belongs to another, but who can it be?

Mr. Jonathan Harker has also officially called off his engagement to Miss Mina Murray, who suffered from a brutal attack earlier this week. A source close to Mr. Harker has cited "emotional infidelity" as Harker's reason for cancelling the engagement. Meanwhile, Harker and his former fiancée's best friend, Miss Lucy Westenra, have been seen socializing more than usual as of late. Has Harker jumped ship on Miss Murray in favor of her best friend? Our gossip columnists have their ears to the ground!

CRIME WATCH Aside from the notable aforementioned crimes against London's elites, two ruffians were found murdered in a brothel on the London's south side. Early reports suggest that one victim was decapitated, while the other victim, a prostitute known locally as "Ladybird," received a rifle blast directly to the face. Investigators have no leads in the case and expect no revelations (despite the violence involved in the double murder), due to the location of the crime and the victims' social status.
